Freedom of Information - Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the 'classes' of information the practice intends to routinely make available. The scheme is available from reception.
Patient Information and Confidentiality.
The practice has a confidentiality policy in place which is adhered strictly by all members of staff and visitors. The patients rights in disclosure of such information is covered by the Data Protection Act 1998 - further information is available from the Practice Manager.
Access to medical records for people outside the health care team (or who are involved in the patient’s clinical care) is only given with the patient’s expressed written permission.
Anonymised Patients’ data may be used for research that is in the best interests of patients and the NHS as a whole.
